People are venturing outside as they fight off their Spring Fever. The first chores are being done as part of spring cleaning.
And people are looking for new warm weather footwear.
From sandals to flip flops to hiking boots, all summer footwear is starting to become popular again for all kinds of folks. It’s a busy season at Mason and a time of year most look forward to every March and April.

It’s an exciting time of year for a variety of reasons.
It is always exciting to add new people to the Mason team and this is a great way to help the company during one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year.
The annual Mason Companies, Inc. Christmas Party was recently held.
The party was scheduled in January 2012 this year to accomodate a busy selling time during the holidays. After the busy holiday season for Stoneberry everybody was ready to enjoy a great meal and even a few laughs at the holiday event.
Each year, the planning committee for the holiday party does a great job at finding a comedian to come and entertain the employees. In past years the comedians have been funny and this year was no different. Everybody was laughing and having a good time.
There were also some gifts to give away this year. Names were called and everyone had a chance to win. There were some great prizes and whoever did the wrapping did a great job too.
It was a great holiday party and a great way to cap off a busy and wonderful holiday season at Mason Companies.
The Spring 2012 season is already underway. The weather is changing. People are looking for new spring shoe styles.
It should be a good 2012 and we’ll look for you at next year’s holiday party.
It’s the season for giving.
The winners of last week’s Ham Day tree decorating contest shared their home made blankets with the residents of the Eagleton Nursing Home. Employees that won the Judge’s Choice award last week for their thoughtful tree took blankets to the residents and they should be warm and cozy this winter.
From Mason Co. workers present holiday gifts to nursing home residents:
On Tuesday, the residents of the assisted living facility at 14135 150th Ave. Bloomer were given fleece blankets hand assembled by employees of the Mason Companies in Chippewa Falls.
“I need it, too,” said resident Agnes Kaasa. She said the gift was overwhelming.
“It’s wonderful. Just wonderful,” Kaasa said.
The contribution from the Mason Companies group came about after a tree decoration contest at their work.
An entry from a group of workers in Mason’s Stoneberry distribution center won the “judge choice” award, handed out by the judges from Chippewa Falls Main Street.
Thanks to the Chippewa Herald for covering the story and thanks to the great employees that contributed to making the blankets and sharing them with the Eagleton residents.
It should be a great holiday season in the local community.
As mentioned earlier, the Ham Day event is always fun. Employees contribute to put together a great lunch on that day and the decorating is always fun. It’s great to see what the other areas come up with. There are some creative folks working in every department at Mason.
Congratulations once again to all the winners from the decorating contest. The other departments will have to step it up next year in order to take the winning step forward.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
The annual Mason Ham Day took place last Thursday, December 15th, 2011. The event was a success once again. Each department took the time to decorate a tree. The trees all had themes and while all were clever and unique there could only be a few winners.
Here were the judges choices.
Mason Ham Day 2011 Winners
- Most Creative: IS
- Most Holiday Spirit: Merchandizing
- Judges Choice: WOW
Congratulations to the winners!
IS was the talk of the company after having a light show and a setup that went above and beyond anything else. They came back as the clear favorite even though other departments put in great effort as well. If you didn’t have a chance to see the trees of other departments some folks at Mason took a few photos. There were some really great trees. I’m sure the judges struggled to choose the top three trees.
Here were some of the highlights:
IS Light Show Tree (the video is better)
Merchandising Leinie’s Tree
WOW
Executive Mason Tree
Contact Center Packer Tree (Go Pack Go!)
Finance
Graphics
Purchasing & Forecasting
Marketing
Charlie Brown Tree
Congratulations once again to the winners.
And be ready for Ham Day 2012 for another chance to win. IS raised the bar this year and it will take some clever planning to top their tree from this year. It’s always fun to see everyone dressed up and in the Christmas spirit.
Have a safe and happy holiday season.
This Thursday, December 15th is Mason’s annual Ham Day.
Each year, Mason Companies, Inc. provides employees with their choice of a ham or a turkey. The delicious meats make for great holiday meals.
Also a tradition on Ham Day is the decorating contest. Each year, the various departments at Mason put their holiday spirit to work decorating their hallway areas with a specific Christmas theme. There have always been great themes chosen. Most are funny and clever. On occasion, a few of the departments have been known to even include singing. The hallways in each of the buildings are filled with lights, trees, and plenty of decorations on the walls. Some of the hallways have been pretty elaborate in the past. It’s always fun to walk through the halls and see what the departments have come up with for the latest Ham Day competitions.
The best themes are judged each year and the winners receive bragging rights for the entire year until the next Ham Day season comes around. It’s a fun time for everyone as the holiday spirit and even a little competitiveness come out.
Who will win this year’s contest?
If you ask the employees, everyone is a winner.
